Meta Description
Precipitated silica is amorphous hydrated silicon dioxide produced by wet precipitation process. It is widely used as reinforcing filler for rubber, matting agent for coating, mild abrasive for toothpaste and anti-caking agent for feed. Factory direct supply, stable quality, multiple grades available.
Product Overview
Precipitated silica, also known as white carbon black or amorphous hydrated silica (SiO₂·nH₂O), is a synthetic white powder produced by reacting sodium silicate with acid under controlled precipitation conditions. It is washed, dried and milled into fine powder with porous structure and controllable particle size.
Compared with fumed silica, precipitated silica is more cost-effective and produced at larger scale. It serves as a multi-functional filler and additive across rubber, coating, toothpaste, feed, agriculture and personal care industries.

Recommended Addition Ratio
| Application | Recommended Dosage |
|---|---|
| Rubber goods, shoe soles, industrial parts | 15 – 50 phr |
| Tire silica compound | 20 – 80 phr |
| Coating & ink matting agent | 2 – 10% of total formula |
| Toothpaste | 5 – 20% of total formula |
| Feed additive & anti-caking | 0.2 – 2.0% of total weight |
| Powder chemical free-flow agent | 0.5 – 3.0% of total weight |
Instructions for Use
- For rubber applications, add silica during internal mixing or two-roll mill mixing. Disperse fully before introducing curing agents and accelerators.
- For coating and ink, pre-disperse silica in resin or solvent under high-shear equipment before the grinding stage.
- For toothpaste, use toothpaste-grade silica only. Disperse slowly into humectant slurry phase to avoid lumps.
- For feed and powder systems, blend uniformly in a ribbon mixer or horizontal mixer to prevent dusting and segregation.
- Use the correct grade for each application; do not substitute rubber grade with toothpaste or feed grade without validation.
- Avoid high humidity during handling and storage to prevent moisture absorption and caking.
