What is Silicone Color Masterbatch?
Silicone color masterbatch (also called silicone color paste / color gum) is a concentrated colorant specially used for coloring silicone products. It is a paste-like solid and an essential raw material in silicone production.
1. Core Components
- Silicone base gum (carrier): Compatible with silicone materials, easy to mix, does not affect silicone performance.
- Color pigments: Determine the color, including organic, inorganic and fluorescent pigments.
- Silicone oil & dispersing agent: Prevent pigment agglomeration, ensure uniform coloring without spots.
2. Main Types & Features
- Organic color masterbatch: Bright color, full chromatogram, high tinting strength, good transparency; suitable for daily necessities and accessories.
- Inorganic color masterbatch: High temperature resistance, weather resistance, strong hiding power; suitable for outdoor and industrial applications.
- Fluorescent color masterbatch: Glows under UV light, high brightness; average heat and weather resistance.
- Food-grade color masterbatch: Non-toxic, complies with FDA / LFGB; used for kitchenware, medical and baby products.
3. Usage
1. Add to silicone at a ratio of 0.5% – 3% and mix evenly.
2. Molding or extrusion curing at 165–190°C.
