1. Must use silicone-specific ink
- Ordinary plastic/metal ink will not adhere to silicone and will peel off easily.
- Only choose: silicone ink / silicone screen printing ink
2. Choose type by application
1. Air-dry type
- No heating required, dries naturally
- Suitable: small items, manual printing, small batches
2. Heat-curing type
- Needs oven/tunnel dryer at 80–120°C for 5–20 minutes
- Best adhesion, stretch resistance, washability
- Suitable: silicone wristbands, phone cases, watchbands, silicone products
3. Key performance requirements
- Adhesion: No peeling when scratched or taped
- Stretch resistance: No cracking when stretched
- Washable & sweat-resistant: For wearable products
- Finish: glossy, matte, rubber-touch, wear-resistant
4. Color and effect
- Solid colors: black, white, red, yellow, blue, etc.
- Translucent: for top coating and tinting
- Fluorescent & Pantone matching: use silicone-based color paste
5. Solvents and additives
- Special diluent: Do not use thinners/783, which damage silicone
- Curing agent: Required for 2-component ink
- Defoamer & leveling agent: improve pinholes and leveling
6. Quick pre-test before ordering
1. Print on your actual silicone product
2. Cure according to instructions
3. Perform 3 tests:
- Scratch test
- Tape test
- 100% stretch test
7. Purchasing tips
- Request samples first to test adhesion and compatibility
- Confirm curing conditions and shelf life
- Choose suppliers with stable quality and technical support
