This agent must be added by many times with a small quantity. If not, fewer electrostatic
spark and over heat from roller will cause material burning during the mixing time, The fire can
be put out by foam extinguisher.
What is Silicone Double 25 Curing Agent?
(2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert-butylperoxy)hexane, DBPH)
Double 25 is a widely used peroxide curing agent for HTV silicone rubber.
It is mainly used to cure solid silicone products under heating.
Advantages
1. Moderate curing temperature
Cures at 170–190°C, easy to operate with common equipment.
2. Fast curing speed
High efficiency, suitable for mass production.
3. Excellent cost performance
Low cost and low dosage.
4. Good physical properties
Ensures good tensile strength, hardness and resilience.
5. Wide application
Suitable for industrial parts, seals, keypads, conductive silicone, and general silicone products.
Disadvantages
1. Unpleasant odor
Has a peroxide smell after curing; not ideal for direct food or medical use.
2. Slight yellowing
Not recommended for high-transparency products.
3. Not for LSR
Only used for HTV solid silicone, not for liquid silicone rubber.
4. Volatile by-products
May require post-curing to remove odor and residues.
