Before starting any cleaning or modification work, every surface should go through a basic inspection to identify visible issues that could interfere with primer performance. Look for traces of oil, grease, dust, fingerprints, oxidation layers, or leftover release agents from previous manufacturing steps. Run a clean, lint-free gloved finger gently across the surface to feel for uneven residue, sticky spots, or chalky layers that are not immediately visible to the eye. Any part that shows obvious signs of contamination or surface degradation should be set aside for separate pre-treatment, rather than moving straight to a standard cleaning step. This quick check catches most obvious problems early, before teams invest time and materials into applying primer to a surface that will never form a reliable bond.
